Ratite Bibliography and Cites
We have worked hard to assemble for you a comprehensive listing of all the ratite cites. The
ratite cites were originally compiled by Ken Ladd and are used by permission.
They are presented here as a convenience and service to all our visitors with the compliments
of Ostriches On Line.
Access to the cites requires a username and password. If you don't already have one please
go to our FREE registration page.
Cites Categories
These cites are split into 4 main categories by species, which are further organized by author.
Click on the links to view a listing, or search for cites using the Search function at the top of the page.

What are Cites?
Cites are a compilation of all known books, papers, reference material and collections of any
documents which have been published pertaining to each ratite species.
Included with each cite - wherever possible - is the author, the date of publication, the name
of the publication and any reference numbers pertaining to the actual publication.
Many of the excerpts we have on the Web are just a part of a much larger publication.
What is contained in the cites?
Each cite covers different information about a particular species. The cites provide information
on diseases, medical conditions, animal husbandry, research and just about anything else to
do with the breeding and raising of each species.
How do I get a full copy of the Cite?
Each cite and publication listed is NOT always available and none of them are available from
either Ken Ladd or Ostriches On Line.
We recommend the best place to start is the Internet. Visit your favourite search engine and
type in the author's name. If that is unsuccessful go to your local library - make sure to copy
as much information from the cite as possible. The next place is a major metropolitan library - they
will have the information you require and if the publication is still available they should be able
to get a copy for you.
Please do NOT write to Ostriches On Line asking where and if the publication is still available -
we will be unable to help you.
Is there anywhere else I can get help?
